FAQ
Corporate Partnerships & Custom goods FAQ
Q: What is the difference between blind embossing and foil stamped?
A: Blind embossing uses pressure to create a deep indentation in the leather with no additional pigment left behind. Blind embossing can only be done on vegetable tanned leather. Foil stamping is done using a heated press and colored foil that is pressed into the leather. The outcome is an impression with a pop of color. Foil stamping can be done on all leather options we offer.
Q: How do I get my logo on your beautiful items?
A: Just send us a vector file! .Ai, .pdf, or .eps is preferred. It usually takes 3-5 days for the stamp to arrive, so keep that in mind when placing your order. The best thing about ordering a custom stamp? It is a one time fee and can be used on future orders!
Q: I have an idea for a product, but I don’t see it offered on your website. How do I go about having it made?
A: We love the ability to stretch our creative muscles! Our talented design team will help make your idea come to life. Ask about our R&D fee!
Q: How far out should I put in my order? Can you do rush orders?
A: Our ideal timeline is 2-4 weeks out for items we already make with our current leather offerings. Any custom work would ideally be placed 4-6 weeks out to allow for R&D and sourcing of materials. If you’re wanting a very specific leather source that we do not carry in-house, please allow around 6 - 12 weeks for those samples to arrive.
Q: Do you offer a discount for bulk orders?
A: We sure do! Ask for our bulk pricing break downs.
Workshop FAQ
Q: Who can attend a workshop?
A: In short, anyone! We offer a variety of workshops that cater to many crowds. Young, old, friends, co-workers… the list goes on! Workshops range from a 30 minute bracelet making class to a 2 hour marbling workshop. For more information on what we offer, please visit the Corporate Gifting + Events tab on our website.
Q: What is the difference between marbling and painting in workshops?
A: When marbling, we use a water based solution and leather paint to dip-dye our leather. When painting, it is in the traditional sense, just using leather specific products. We will always use the terms painting and marbling appropriately to describe an activity.
Activations FAQ
Q: How many people can you service at my event?
A: This is on a case-by-case basis. We like to have two staff members on site for every event. We recommend additional staff members for larger events to make sure every guest has a memorable, personal experience.
Q: What if I want to include my company's logo or colors?
A: Absolutely! We can create a custom stamp with your logo or custom artwork. There is a one-time set up fee to have the stamp made, and it can be reused on future orders.
Q: I have an idea for a product, but I don’t see it offered on your website. How do I go about having it made?
A: Send us an inquiry at custom@gladandyoungstudio.com! Our talented design and production team truly create magic, and would be thrilled to help bring your idea to life..
Q: Can everything be custom stamped?
A: Not quite. Custom stamping can only be done on heavier weight leathers, like veg tan or oil tan. However, foil stamping can be done on most of our products. Send us an inquiry if you would like more information.
Q: How far out should I book an event?
A: Our ideal timeline is four to six weeks out. This way, we can work out the details together and make sure we get items into production in a timely manner.
